Position Overview
TDWI, the premier source for education and research on all things data, is looking for a marketing rock star to lead its marketing strategy and organization as its Vice President, Marketing. The Vice President, Marketing will create and guide the vision, strategy, and implementation of focused and measurable direct marketing programs to achieve TDWI's business objectives. Responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategic marketing and communication plan to advance the company's brand identity in a competitive and evolving market
Work with TDWI management to develop the overall goals, strategy and budgets for all TDWI product lines (events, onsite education and vendor programs)
Lead the evolution and execution of TDWI branding, messaging, social media, PR and digital marketing strategy
Manage and lead event and vendor marketing teams, working with teams to develop world-class marketing organization
Manage creative team of designers and web administrators in the production of all collateral and marketing programs, ensuring that consistent branding and messaging across all customers touch points
Responsible for hitting attendee revenue targets for each event
Track and monitor campaign response, developing and implementing contingency plans where needed to achieve target goals
Develop and work with marketing team to execute custom marketing and lead generation programs in conjunction with the sales and content teams, including webinars, whitepapers, thought-leadership and all other marketing programs as needed
Work with marketing team to maintain clear and concise messaging frameworks for each event and marketing program
Leverage our content generation staff and their content to attract attendees through social networking sites, other specialized user groups and other web and thought leadership programs
Manage PR efforts, including press releases and placement of research staff at other event speaking opportunities
Conduct market and customer research to enhance our positioning, messaging, and overall marketing and conference strategy
Work closely with finance in tracking and monitoring all marketing-impacted revenue and expenses - including reconciling any outstanding differences in attendee revenue with the business manager for each unit
Create and deliver ongoing reports on attendee numbers, campaign results and ROI
Employ data analytics and data mining techniques to effectively target event attendees
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be located in the Seattle area
Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of progressively responsible marketing experience (MBA preferred)
Minimum 7 years' experience (event and vendor marketing a plus)
Minimum 7 years' experience digital marketing experience
Innovative thinker with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action-oriented plans and developing/implementing new processes
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with senior management and industry leaders
Highly organized, with strong multi-tasking skills to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and demands
Experience with optimization of lead generation via digital channels
Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with media contacts and industry analysts
Ability to make good decisions in a rapid pace and changing environment
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint
